Naturopathic Medicine

Natural Pediatrics
Pediatric services are offered by Dr. Bowker. Services include:
- Newborn and Well Child Exams
- Childhood vaccines (for eligible children--currently all children ages 0-18 are eligible through the WA State vaccines for children program)
- Sports physicals
- Acute pediatric care (in office or phone consultation)
- FREE Infant Weight checks and Breastfeeding Support (Dr. Bowker will refer you to a certified lactation specialist, if necessary)
Should your child need specialty care, Dr. Bowker will coordinate care with specialists affiliated with Seattle Children's Hospital. Because Dr. Bowker does not have hospital privileges, initial newborn exams are typically done by the hospital pediatrician or midwife (in the case of a home or birth-center birth). Expectant parents wishing to establish care for their baby with Dr. Bowker should schedule a meet & greet appointment prior to the baby's birth and plan to schedule a first office visit when the baby is 10-14 days old. Acupuncture
Acupuncture Services are provided by Charleen Van Horn, LAc, LMP.
Using acupuncture, massage, and herbal medicine, many different types of symptoms can be relieved or eliminated. Charleen specializes in the treatment of pain and is experienced in treating a wide variety of ailments. These include environmental allergies, sinus congestion, digestive disturbances, PMS, menstrual cramps, common cold, fatigue, anxiety, stress, poor sleep, and many different types of pain.
Charleen’s focus is working with her clients to restore the natural balance of their body. She works with each client to design a treatment plan that is specific to their goals. She has a wide range of skills that accommodate the many different needs of her clients. Massage Therapy
Massage Therapy Services are provided by Gyda Harris, LMP
Massage Therapy can help to ease pain caused by chronic muscle tension. It can also increase circulation, promote relaxation, and may speed the healing of certain types of injuries. Our massage therapists incorporate a variety of massage techniques ranging from gentle Swedish massage to Deep Tissue/Sports massage and myofascial release. While some insurance benefits cover massage therapy, it is your responsibility to know your benefits and get a referral or prescription if one is required in order to bill insurance.
Bowen Therapy
Bowen Therapy is available from Gyda Harris, LMP
During a Bowen Therapy session, the therapist will make a series of light, rolling movements on the patients muscles and tendons. This technique may improve circulation, increase mobility and flexibility, and promote drainage and detoxification of the tissues. This technique usually requires a series of 2-3 sessions for optimum results. Each session will last about 30-45 minutes. Because this technique is believed to encourage the body's innate healing ability, it can be helpful for a variety of conditions. Please call and ask for Gyda if you have any additional questions.

Patient Ally (currently available for Dr. Bowker's patients only) allows registered users to request appointments electronically, access lab results and other health information provided by your physician. You may also use this portal for secure electronic correspondence with your physician.
